A Note from Michael Weems

After 8 years of producing glass and crystal – I have turned to a new medium….Metal, reclaimed to be exact and I am thrilled to share this new collection in this new medium with you here on my website.

This change in medium for me from glass to metal began when I happened upon an amazing metal graveyard out in the Southern California desert with the most beautiful and amazing “bones” that have been washed over by years and years of sand and beaten by the harsh desert sun. I saw around me the most graceful and elegant twisted pieces of metal that I knew had the potential to become pieces of art. Old cars, left for dead….large twisted pieces of steel and metal peeking out of the sand…they just needed some new breath to come alive again. This is how this new collection was created.

All of my pieces are made from reclaimed metal. I am so happy to bring these pieces back from the graveyard, in new form, with new purpose and life - to live on in our lives. I feel it is also socially responsible as well to work with pieces that have already served a purpose previously, especially with all that is happening to our beautiful planet.

It is with great joy to bring this new collection together and share it with you. My hope is that you will love it as much as I and that it will bring years of enjoyment to your own dwellings as it does my own.

Sincerely, Michael Weems
